NEWSLETTER: April 2016
COMPETITION RESULTS
Well done to all gymnasts who took part in the Tumbling and Harriers competitions in Bristol and Patchway on Sunday 20th March and Saturday 16th April.
We chose only a few tumblers this year, to represent Kestrel against all the other clubs in the South West region. Well done to Mabel Young who won bronze and Elicia Webster who won silver in their very first tumbling competition, and Sophie Barnes who took the gold in her group.
At the Harriers Competition, all partnerships performed well and pleased their coaches; we are very proud of you.
Mention must be made of Amy Lea and Rachel Kelly who took the bronze medal in the grade 2 women’s pairs, after learning their routine the night before the competition. Well done girls.
Bronze medals were won by the grade 3 trio of Larragh Nunn, Olivia Rebollo-Smith and Isla Jackson. The silver medals in that group went to Tegan Taylor, Jenna Nunn and Cerys Greenwell. Our Grade 1 men’s pair of Tom O’Brien and William Elderton won the gold medal in their category.
Congratulations gymnasts. You have some very proud coaches for all your hard work preparing for the competition, and your exemplary behaviour both on and off the competition floor and track.
FUTURE COMPETITION DATES
The inter-club competition in Honiton will be held on the weekend of 24th/25th September. This is an annual event which we expect most of our intermediate and advanced gymnasts (Linnets, Starlings, Blackbirds, Owls & Eagles) to attend, as this gives them the opportunity to experience all levels of competition in a fun and friendly environment.
Please let your coach know if your child is not available on 24th/25th September or does not wish to be considered for competition. I will let you know during July if your child has been chosen to represent Kestrel at these events, and will give further information about leotard hire and extra training as soon as possible. Put these dates in your diary as they are great days out to watch gymnasts perform, and to support our club.
INVOICES/FEES
Invoices for the autumn term are no longer issued by email as the fees and term dates are shown on our website www.kestrelgymnastics.com . However, I can email a copy or print a paper copy on request.
CATTLE COUNTRY
The date for our annual evening at Cattle country has been confirmed as Monday 18th July 2016, from 6pm until 8pm. This is a great evening where gymnasts and their families can use the slides and outside equipment and splash pool at a private party just for our club. Please complete the attached form to book places.
COACHING
We want to say thank you to the following gymnasts for giving up their time to help us coach the young children, and for being excellent ambassadors for our club. Jenna Nunn, Tegan Taylor, Bonnie Magee, Zoe Smith, Eli Webster, Olivia Rebollo-Smith, Trinni Dagger & Larragh Nunn. I am very proud of all these young people for their effort on behalf of the club; they are such excellent role models.
Kind regards
